Dr Mujtaba Ahmed

Dr Mujtaba Ahmed is a formally qualified Consultant Physician and Geriatrician. He trained in United Kingdom and was awarded Membership of Royal Colleges of Physicians, UK (MRCP). He came to Australia in 2008 and completed his specialist physician training towards dual fellowship in Internal (General) Medicine and Geriatric Medicine at The Princess Alexandra Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital and QEII Hospital.

Dr Ahmed became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2014 specialising in Geriatric Medicine and Internal Medicine. He started as Consultant Physician at Logan hospital and has private consultation rooms as part of Southside Specialist Medical & Geriatric Centre. He also has visiting rights at Sunnybank Private Hospital.

Dr Ahmed is involved with teaching medical students and he is also a supervisor for basic and advanced physician trainees.

Dr Mujtaba Ahmed believes in holistic patient centred care and early comprehensive geriatric assessment. He has special interests in diagnosis and management of dementia, fall prevention and Osteoporosis management, Parkinson's disease, Stroke and incontinence.

Dr Kah Wai Chan

Dr Kah Wai Chan grew up in Singapore and graduated from Trinity College, Ireland in 2000. He relocated to Brisbane and underwent his specialist training in SE Queensland. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians specialising in Geriatric Medicine in 2014.

Dr Chan has private consultation rooms as part of Southside Specialist Medical & Geriatric Centre and runs his private outpatient clinics at multiple locations. He is also a visiting medical officer at the Mater Private Hospital (South Brisbane) and a Staff Specialist at Logan Hospital.

Dr Chan's special interest includes cognitive assessments, management of different types of Dementia, Parkinson's Disease, frailty, falls, osteoporosis/ fractures and Comprehensive Geriatrics Assessments.

Dr Chan speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin.

Dr Deepak Darshan

Dr Darshan undertook his primary medical training in India. He went on to do a PhD from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, before moving to Australia. He completed specialist training in Geriatrics at Toowoomba Hospital and The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane. He became Fellow the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2022. He is also interested in research, has published extensively in national and international journals, and has presented at various meetings. He is also a lecturer at the University of Queensland School of Medicine.

Dr Darshan works as a Consultant Physician at Toowoomba Hospital and also as a Visiting Medical Officer at Wesley Hospital Brisbane. Dr Darshan has private consultation rooms as part of Southside Specialist Medical & Geriatric Centre and runs his private outpatient clinics at multiple locations.

Dr Darshan has a holistic approach to the care of the elderly and aims to provide excellent care addressing all aspects of Geriatric Medicine. Dr Darshan is particularly interested in diagnosing and managing Dementia, conducting comprehensive Geriatric assessments, polypharmacy, falls assessments, Parkinson’s Disease, Stroke, osteoporosis, and peri-operative medicine. He is also interested in longitudinal care of the elderly with complex multi-morbidities.

Outside of medicine, Dr Darshan enjoys bush-walking, cricket and spending time with his family.
